History

The Spindel Agency became an affiliate of The Frieden Agency in 1975 and is an integral part of the agency, serving over 100 employee benefit plans, as well as countless families in Eastern Virginia.

Founded in 1928 by the late Jack Leterman, The Frieden Agency was the first John Hancock General Agency established in the state of Virginia. From its inception, The Frieden Agency has been locally owned and operated by the family of its founder and the affiliation with John Hancock continues to this day. The Frieden Agency has expanded over the years enabling our Representatives to offer products from other top rated insurance companies as well.

In 1987, Jack Frieden, one of three grandchildren of Jack Leterman working within the organization, formed a subsidiary of The Frieden Agency which was created as an employee benefits company. Purchased by TowneBank in 2007, this subsidiary is now known as TFA Benefits. The Spindel Agency works closely with TFA Benefits to offer an outstanding array of employee benefits.

Since 1928, it has been the mission of The Frieden Agency to serve their clients with honesty and integrity. Today, The Spindel Agency feels more committed than ever to these principles.

Although our company connections may be complex our business philosophy is quite simple. It is our mission to bring quality insurance and investment products to our clients in order to help them achieve their financial goals.

In order to best serve our clients, we offer a variety of financial products and services. Family and business insurance products, as well as employee benefits, form the foundation of The Spindel Agency.

From its inception, The Spindel Agency has felt a strong sense of community and industry responsibility.
